My Experience

As soon as I set foot in Hootsuite and met my co-workers I immediately felt at home. There was an aura of excitement that seemed to be contagious and I went home that night feeling pumped up for the months to come. The following months were filled with immense learning and growth, and straight from the get-go, I felt like an important part of the team. Being surrounded by so many passionate and knowledgeable people both slightly intimidated me and inspired me to learn more, and I am so grateful to have been able to learn and grow alongside the best of the best in this industry.

I learned more than I ever thought I would in the #sofetch Platform team, from Scala to microservices to communication within a team. I even learned things that my subteam did not work on, such as containerization, through the weekly Platform demos and through chatting with coworkers during lunch. My whole team was always super helpful whenever I needed any help and they were the reason why I got so much out of this experience. Working on the Platform team at Hootsuite was one of the best decisions I’ve made and I would 110% recommend it to anyone who is unsure about it.
